LARGA General Information
Good news!! LARGA is back!
We currently have most of a schedule set for 2024. The first
event is May 6 at Widder Station and may conclude Oct 7 at
Kingswell Glen. The schedule can be found using the menu bar.
Like last year, the cost varies from course to course but includes
the cart and taxes. The tee time also varies. At the time of
writing, all dates are either a Monday or a Tuesday.
The process for arranging a tee time will be the same as last
year except for the first event. When you attend an event, you
can sign up the next 2-3 events. Note that payment is also
expected by cheque (preferred) or cash. Your tee time on the tee
sheet will be marked to indicate payment.
PROCEDURE FOR EVENT 1 (Widder):
To avoid the chaos of registering at Widder, there will be an
earlier opportunity to register for the first few events on April 22
at Camlachie from 9 to 12 noon. You can pay for your golf
event(s) and membership fee ($20). Please note that there is no
golf organized by LARGA for April 22nd. Feel free to book your
own round. Bruce Houtby will be there to help answer questions.
Postdating a cheque to a week before the event is fine. One
cheque can pay for multiple people.
In general, we are expecting that a golfer will be prepaid for 2
weeks in advance. This is because Golf North and a few other
courses demand we supply numbers and names 14 days prior to
our event. Adding names to the event with less than 14 days to
go is a problem.
It might be possible for a member without a tee time to still show
at an event, pay, and play if tee times are available but this
practice is discouraged as we certainly can't guarantee you can
play.
People wishing to join LARGA for the first time can show up early
to any course with questions. They can also call/text Bruce
Houtby at 519 330 2782 for information. LARGA will try to place
singles with groups with 2-3 players. Anyone missing 2
consecutive weeks should show up early at the next event to get
what tee times are available (if any).
General Rules
1. Members must be 50 years plus and retired.
2. A non-member may play as a guest, once in a season.
3. On rainy days, members must attend to obtain a rain check
from the Club Pro/owner. The member shall be responsible for
making playing arrangements at a later date at that club. The
rain check is not valid for any other LARGA Association play.
4. If you have matters that concern LARGA contact an Executive
member about the issue.
Thank You and Have a Great Year.
