LARGA General
Information
Good news!! LARGA is back!
We have set up a schedule for 2023 which
starts on July 4 at Camlachie and ends
Oct.2 at Kingswell. The schedule can be
found on this web site.
It was impossible to set a common price
for anything this year. The price of both
golf and cart varies from course to course.
The tee time also varies. Hopefully we can
do better next year when we have a better
idea of our numbers.
The use of carts is as in the past.... book a
cart with the course (Indian Hills will not do
that) and pay at the course for the cart.
LARGA wants nothing to do with the carts.
Any payment by our members for golf
should be for golf alone and NOT include
the cost of a cart.
The process for arranging a tee time varies
from past practice. Basically you pay for
the golf when you choose a tee time with
the exception of the first 3 weeks. The
process is detailed better below.
WEEK 1( Camlachie)
The schedule starts July 4 at Camlachie.
Members are asked to show up at
Camlachie before 9 to get a tee time and
to pay LARGA for the golf only. Payment
may be cash OR cheque. Tee sheets will
be available for Black Creek and
Wardsville. Paying LARGA for each of
those 2 courses is appreciated but not
mandatory. Payment can be made either in
cash or by cheque. Postdating a cheque
to a week before the event is fine.
PLEASE do not postdate a cheque to the
day of the event as LARGA currently does
not have the funds to cover the cost with
out substantial income (Funds received at
an event will not be deposited until the next
day at the earliest.)
Each entry on the tee sheets for Black
Creek and Wardsville will indicate if the
entry is PAID or NOT. Someone will be at
Camlachie and Black Creek an hour before
tee time to answer questions.
Week 2 (Black Creek)
At Black Creek, members should have
their tee time already (chosen at
Camlachie). The member must pay for the
golf if not paid yet. If no tee time, they
should show up early to get available times
and pay for the golf. A tee sheet for
Wardsville and one for Sandhills should be
available. Again.... payment for those tee
times would be appreciated.
The tee sheet will record if the entry is paid
for or not. Members who already chose a
tee time for Wardsville may pay for
Wardsville if they had not done so already.
Week 3 (Wardsville)
At Wardsville, the process continues as
described above. Members who have not
yet paid for Wardsville will pay. The tee
sheets for Sand Hills and Hidden Hills will
be available. Payment for either or both
courses would be appreciated.
Week 4 (Sand Hills) thru End of Schedule (Kingswell)
From that point on, NO TEE TIME WILL
BE ASSIGNED WITHOUT PAYMENT FOR
THAT TEE TIME. This means that for the
rest of the schedule, all tee times will be
paid a week or 2 in advance. In previous
years, everyone paid the week before an
event when purchasing a ticket. We have
added a week for most of the schedule, but
have eliminated the tickets used
previously. Hopefully this actually simplifies
the process for both the reps, the
members, and the treasurer. Members
without tee times can still show up, pay
and play if tee times are available but is
discouraged as we certainly prefer to have
accurate numbers as LARGA is required to
give up to 2 weeks notice on numbers to
some courses. Note that the course may
well use any unassigned times we may
have for their own members.
By Sept 19, the last 2 events Sept 25 and
Oct 2 should already have all tee times
paid for. The members will NOT be putting
out cash or writing cheques for the golf as
they will already have paid for all events
they attended.
People wishing to join LARGA for the first
time can show up early to any course with
questions. They can also call/text Bruce
Houtby at 519 330 2782 for information.
LARGA will try to place singles with groups
with 3 players.
Anyone missing 2 consecutive weeks
should should up early at the next event to
get what tee times are available.
