President's Message

Gentlemen: It’s time to dust off those clubs and get set for another great golf season. Like last year the cost of each event will include the cost of golf, cart and taxes. Also, like last year we will be assigned a number of tee times so space may be limited. As our number grow, I will be working with the courses to increase the number of tee times. Most courses are flexible and as long as I can give them enough notice we should be able to accommodate everyone. On APRIL 22ND. LARGA will be holding a sign-up event at Camlachie Golf Course from 9 AM till noon. This will give members, new and returning, an opportunity to submit their membership fee and to sign up for upcoming event tee times. The first event will take place on Monday, May 5th at Widder Station G.C. starting at 8 AM. Our second event will be on Tuesday the 13th of May at Arkona Fairways at 9 AM. As Arkona is a Golf North course, we are required to let them know two (2) weeks in advance as to how many members will be attending. Therefore, sign up for this event will be at the April 22nd. meeting as well. Any member or foursome that cannot attend this date can contact me and we will set you up with a tee time. Again, please note that there will be no LARGA golf taking place April 22nd. The schedule is posted on the LARGA website and we will have printed copies available. If you need one e- mailed to you let me know. Selecting a tee time commits you to paying for your tee time! One person can sign up their entire group. It is not necessary for everyone to attend sign up. When you register it would be great to get all of your contact information. This will help us to get future e-mails to all our members. Please note on the schedule that events are being held on Mondays, Tuesdays and two (2) Thursdays (St. Clair Parkway- Mooretown). As noted earlier, Golf North courses (Arkona, Forest, Sandhills and Kingswell Glen-Petrolia) and a few others require 14 days notice of numbers attending. This means LARGA requires tee time selection and payment two (2) weeks in advance prior to the event at these courses. As this is my first year in this position and still relatively new to LARGA as well I do appreciate your patience.
